
The beautiful alpine meadows and forests become their classroom in the out-of-doors.

TEACHING STAFF Certified teachers from Granite School District help students discover, explore, and learn about the natural wonders found in the world around them. Convenient departure and return locations are arranged and are usually at the students’ school. Transportation is provided by the Granite District bussing department. If notified two weeks in advance, arrangements can be made for most special diets. Meals are prepared by the expert staff in the kitchen and served in the cafeteria at the Center. Each cabin has modern restroom facilities located inside. Qualified adult supervision is provided both during the day and night. HOUSING, FOOD & TRANSPORTATION Boys and girls stay in separate, modern dormitories equipped with bunk beds and covered mattresses. Fishing licenses for students under 12 are not required if the adult supervisor has one.

Students provide their own poles and other materials for fishing. Note: Fishing is only allowed if planned as part of each school's program and an adult supervisor is available to accompany the students.

In case of inclement weather and during some evenings, indoor activities are provided which include short educational films and appropriate movie entertainment. Sports equipment and games are furnished at the Center. Recreational activities during the evening hours include campfire programs (singing and skits), crafts, volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong, along with other games and sports. A visit from our Mill Hollow Mountain Man helps students learn how the mountain men played an important part in opening the American West to our expanding nation. Local history comes alive for students as they pan for "gold" in a nearby creek, or learn about Native Americans while sitting inside the tepee located in a nearby meadow. Qualified teachers provide students with unique learning opportunities in various subjects including plants, animals, geology, ecology, astronomy, and the environment. ACTIVITIES Educational programs during the day are designed to actively involve students in outdoor learning activities, wildlife observation and nature trail hikes. The nearest community is Woodland, which is fifteen miles away.
